Do you ever get the feeling that you want to try a new and unusual flavour? You're tired of alternating fruit and berry mixes over and over again and you start to feel like you don't have much to choose from... Fortunately, that's not true at all, because there are a huge number of highly unusual tobacco flavours that, when mixed with traditional ones, create a new palette of flavours. In the next section, I'll tell you about one of my favourite exotic mixes that is unlike any other.
Preparation
First of all, prepare the coals for the stove. By the time the whole process is complete, the coals will be just about ready. For starters, I'll tell you that I prefer a tobacco strength a little higher than average. That's also why I'll be looking in the medium to dark category when selecting tobaccos. But don't worry, I'll try to find an alternative among the light tobaccos for everyone. Prepare a crown - classic Turkish (not phunell), UPG, etc. We will also need a kalaud and four embers (25mm). And finally, the most important thing - tobacco. In total, we mix three tobaccos, each in equal quantities. The first - spectrum energy storm - tobacco with the taste of energy drink, my favorite. Spectrum has a light line, or you can use a stronger version of the Daily Hookah tobacco. The next ingredient in the blend is spectrum bleberry. Tender and sweet blueberry flavor. Finally, the last ingredient in the mix - satyr pussy fruit - the taste of pitaya, an exotic fruit also called dragon fruit. Satyr pussy fruit can be substituted with a lighter version of tobacco - dragon wind from Malaysian Tobacco, which has a similar taste but is not as strong. We use all three ingredients in the blend in equal quantities.
Tobacco loading and warming
I like to fill the crown with tobacco in parts (different tobacco in each part of the crown), so that all the flavours are expressed evenly. Some people like to stack the tobacco in layers on top of each other so that the tobacco heats up gradually and the flavor changes over time. Another way is to mix all three tobaccos together and pour them into the crown. Each of these methods has its pros and cons, there is no point in dwelling on it for long. As for the filling method itself, I prefer a light so-called air filling, I don't squeeze the tobacco, yet I don't make a hole in the middle, as you could if you want to have a light draw of smoke. We have the crown ready, the embers are suitable, we can proceed. Personally, I usually preheat the kalaud before I put it on the crown. It takes about 1-2 minutes, then I put the red-hot coals on top and put the kalaud on the crown with them. If we hear a characteristic crackle, it means that the flavour of the tobacco in the crown will soon develop. 4 coals will heat the crown in 3-4 minutes (depending on the size of the crown).
What is the result
As soon as the crown is hot, take off one coal and slowly heat three times in succession. If all has gone well, the pipe will not have the unpleasant taste of burnt tobacco and you will also get a good taste. The overall impression is roughly that you will initially experience the unusual taste of dragon fruit along with the energy drink, but on the exhale the pleasant sweet taste of blueberries will take over. An excellent mix with sour notes and a touch of exoticism.
